Picturesque Sebec Lake is surrounded by the towns of
Dover-Foxcroft, Bowerbank, Sebec, and Willimantic. The
area's history goes back hundreds of years to the time
when Eli Towne walked through the woods and became the
first settler. For generations,
Dover-Foxcroft has drawn residents and tourists alike,
eager to enjoy the lake's scenic beauty. |

Visit the Bear's House Museum, located in the little log cabin at Greely's Landing just before the boat launch ramp and to the right of the green roller rink building. There you can see a collection of photos and histories of camps around the lake. The sturdy Mariner is built for those sailors demanding a comfortable daysailer with four sleeping berths, potty locker, and
self-bailing cockpit. For over forty years and 4,000
hulls, the rugged and practical construction of the
Mariner has guaranteed high performance and low
maintenance for solo sailors and families everywhere.
Now built in Rockland, ME by
Stuart Marine,
it
is rated to be unsinkable, self righting, and capable of
sleeping 4 in the cabin. The Mariner is a pleasure to sail on lake or ocean. In 2006, Jan and I launched our
Mariner from MDI Northeast Harbor and sailed to Frenchboro, Long Island, ME.

What a day! Sailing 19' O'day Mariner on Sebec
Lake, Maine

Sebec Lake has fishing, boating and beautiful wild scenery.
Camps and cottages dot the shore and there is still shoreline
where you will see only trees and rock. Visitors enjoy
camping and day use at Peaks Kenny state Park with its natural
beach. And there's a state boat launch at Greelys landing.
Hikers enjoy climbing rugged Borestone Mountain - an Audubon
Sanctuary. In the summertime there's a lot of activity on
the lake. Most of the year it's relatively quiet The
webcam is located on the shouth shore and is usually pointed
easterly. If you are up early you may see a reflective
sunrise. We've seen a few rainbows late in the day.
We may soon post some sounds of Sebec Lake including loon calls.
